Fall 2026 Yoga Philosophy Series

Bhagavat GITA: A Retransmission

a 12-week exploration of Chapter 2 of the Bhagavad Gita, one of the foundational texts of yoga and Indian philosophy

Thursdays, September 24–December 17 | 10:30–11:30 am | Online via Zoom

Building upon teachings shared at Wisdom Roots by Ravi and Sheela Shankar this past spring, Sarah will lead us through her notes and distilled assimilation from that gathering, creating space to revisit, reflect upon, and deepen our understanding of this rich chapter.

Chapter 2 is often understood as a summary of the entire Gītā, and introduces many important topics, including dharma (one's reason for being), non-attachment, the atma (one's eternal nature), the three gunas (qualities of material existence), and samadhi (ultimate state of integration or union).

The teachings unfurl for us over time, and in the spirit of spiral learning, this class is open to all; no previous study of the Bhagavad Gītā is necessary. From those with years of yoga learning to those with nothing more than a sincere interest, you are welcome to join.

WHEN: Thursdays, 10:30-11:30am, from September 24 to December 17.

WHERE: Zoom | recordings available

TUITION: $240 | Sliding scale available

Please note that there will be no class on Thanksgiving.
